Distant Reflection
2013

In Distant Reflection, photographs taken from a travel book from the 1920s about Germany are enlarged and partially covered by iron plates drawing the mountains’ silhouette.

Distant Reflection is part of Alpenprojekt, which consists of three parts: the first one, related to the natural landscape of Alps and its historical and visual representation; the second, related to the post-industrial landscape of Beckton Alps (an artificial mountain made of industrial waste in London, UK), and the third part is associated with the artificial mountains made of war debris in Germany that created a new topography.
